Release the balloons and party poppers!
At 10:30pm on 7th May I completed my 7th story in 7 days – thereby satisfying my National Picture Book Writing Week Challenge (NaPiBoWriWee).
I didn’t write the stories I planned to, and I perhaps didn’t finish as well as I would have liked, but that could be because I’m too tired to recognise potential at this stage. There are a couple of cute and silly fun stories there that might find a home someday. Well – I was giggling as I wrote them.
I’m grinning now though…
FINISHED.
Woot!
Congratulations! How will you celebrate? It is 7am on day seven in my part of the world and, so far, my seventh book has not presented itself. I don’t even have a hint of an idea. Perhaps another cup of coffee and ushering the kids off to school will help me get started.

I celebrated with sleep, Gina – and heading to hometown for Mother’s Day. Trust your story wrote itself while I slept. 🙂

Congrats Kat!
And you are right – you have bones to work with, now you can take them and rearrange them into a skeleton!
Well done!
Bye 4 now

Thanks Tina and Julie. Yep – will look forward to revisiting these. But might leave it a week or two first to get a true picture. Meanwhile, I’ve still got planned ideas that haven’t been written – so perhaps I’ll roll along slowly for a while… or collapse in a heap! 😉

Congratulations on finishing! If you’re giggling as you write there’s got to be something there. Way to go!

Thanks BookChook and Lizann. I loved NaPiBoWriWee – so productive. And wonderful to be a part of such a supportive group.
Am now into the tweak and polish stage for my 1st m’script. Excited by its potential.
