Playing with Poetry

This is a page I’ve created where I can share some poetry dabbles.

I hadn’t expected to be writing poetry this busy week – but I’ve been inspired by classes I’ve worked with  – so here is a little sprinkling of words. Click on the links if you want more information on the poetic form/technique..

.

Solage;

a crocodile with its nose out of joint
encountered a croc at breaking point –
SNAP!

.

Haiku;

duck
mirrors
reflection

.

Playing with Personification;

Cold Start

On a cold morning
the car mutters
and splutters
then shudders into silence,
settling to sleep
snugly blanketed in the warmth
of the dusty shed.

.

No Homework

My homework book
slips out of my school bag and hides
amongst the dust bunnies
that gather under my bed…

I can’t find it, anywhere.
