A picture speaks a thousand words. Here are four pics, that speak to my week.
And despite the fact that Tanita is hosting the Poetry Friday round-up today at {fiction, instead of lies}, not a word of my post is fiction, or lies. 🙃

Sublimity all round! So very very happy for you Kat, no idea! Kisses and hugs and silver trails and sunsets, Dim xxx

It was one of the better weeks, Laura. 🙂

Hah! No, that looks like a decidedly non-fictional balloon. I’ve only ever been up once – and it was both glorious and scary. Aloft, adrift, ascending…it feels like the English language intended poetry about ballooning! Delightful.

Once I got started on those ‘a’ words, they just kept coming! (And then I discovered ‘de’.😹)

I love your balloon ride, and your balloon ride poem, but I am super super delighted at your Notable! So well deserved!

Awwww. Thank-you, Sally. There’s been 5 long years between Notables. I’m keeping it all in perspective.

More power to you Kat. You clearly possess Mongolfier’s spirit. It is something I quite obviously lack. I am literally a ‘groundhog.’ Love your shape poem and its word choice. The pictures are a revelation. Congratulations on your great ‘honour.’ What a week, indeed.

Believe it or not, I’m scared of heights, Alan. But that gently floating, drifting balloon was just glorious. So much better for visibility than a plane. (Just don’t look down. Look out and about!)

You floated literally and figuratively! Congratulations on the award, and thanks for a poem to go along with your balloon-ride photos. Looks like there was a whole range of participants — one hanging over the edge of the basket, while one leaned way back with hand over heart. And you, brave enough to take a selfie mid-flight!

Haha. There were lots of selfies happening, Mary Lee. And not all mine.😹 (Lots NOT mine!)

I like your “look out not down” advice! If I ever decide to ascend, I will think of you and keep it in mind. Congrats on the noteworthy week! xo

Thank-you, Tabatha. And yes, take the advice. And if you ever get the chance, leap at it!

Kat, wow! What a trip aloft with the first light shining onto all that beauty. (I’ve never seen such a big basket under a hot air balloon.) And congratulations! Book of the year! Wow!

Thanks, Denise. Not quite Book of the Year. But a Notable – which is a longlisting. (And only my second time on the longlist.) The actual BotY isn’t announced until – August, I think? And yes, the balloon basket was surprisingly large!

Congrats on the award, Kat! And your photo and poem take me back to the wonder I felt when I once got to ride in a hot air balloon. Amazing!

Oh, my goodness! WOWeeeeeeee! Kat, congratulations. I can’t believe I’m late to this party. I was running behind in PF posts. That is such spectacular news. I’m over the moon to read this news. I can’t believe you didn’t tell me in our little communication a couple days ago. Yippeee!

Haha. You’re usually one of the first to pop up here, so I actually thought you’d be seeing it within moments of my email – so I decided to surprise you.🙃

You are far braver than I – despite the opportunity to write a beautiful poem, I would have to pass on floating so high IN A BALLOON!
