Things I like…

1.  Via email… Thanks to the lovely Dee White for sharing this pic, taken at the Little Bookroom in Carlton. Always a delight to see my Muddy book on the shelves. 🙂

2.  In the mail… Time for a poem in Alphabet Soup  and I’m mighty chuffed to be sharing page space with two wonderful Australian poets I respect and like lots! Both Lorraine and Sally write exquisite poetry and verse novels and are just beautiful people!

3.  Online… the shortlists are announced for the 2012 CYA Conference (Children’s and Young Adults) writing competition. I’m delighted to see my manuscript there – and recognise others belonging to friends! Congratulations to the three lovelies, Karen Collum, Dee White and Tania McCartney. It’s been a giggle as we share the excitement, with results announced 7 July at the CYA Conference in Brisbane.

  1. Hey Kat – loved your poem and loved seeing Mud on that shelf! Absolutely delighted to be sitting alongside you with this shortlisting; what a joy it is to have author friends together in celebration. Makes it even more special. x
