National Poetry Week – Another Poem

Sometimes life gets busy. And it’s not just the adults who are affected.

Forget Your Head

In seven days
my boy
has lost his head
five times

Not one to forget,
usually very organised,
but suddenly
sooooo busy…

he has forgotten;
his lunchbox
(3 times)
his schoolbag
(2 times)
his responsibility
(5 times)

and I’m so glad his head
is screwed on tight
because quite clearly
he’d be lost

Equally clear;
he’d be lost
without his

  1. Bless his little cotton school socks. It’s normally towards end of term that we rock up at school fully equipped without anything; school bag, home work, lunch all safely left at home. Cool poem.
